Newcrest Mining crushes its goals with this soft-sensor model

An unreliable sensor in a crushed ore bin was known to be a major cause of downtime at Newcrest Mining. IT Solutions Lead Nevena Andric describes the soft-sensor model they created using data from the PI System to predict the sensor measurement. They decreased the crushing circuit downtime by 50%.
