CAMPING IN SNOW WITHOUT A TENT -- Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Bundle up for an icy adventure as we embrace old man winter in a place where gale force north winds produce sub-zero temperatures and it can snow every day! We’re at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula which is spectacular in all seasons but especially in winter; when Lake Superior churns up tons of snow and crazy ice formations. It’s exhilarating and bitterly cold as we try our hand at ice fishing on the freshly frozen lake. And then, we challenge ourselves to climb a 70-foot-tall waterfall which is now a magnificent pillar of ice. To cap it all off, we brave the elements to sleep outside in the ice and snow without a tent. What could possibly go wrong? Join us as we embrace winter’s chill!
