Film Description:
The Freedom of Uselessness is framed around Taoist philosophy, particularly the concept of wu wei, which emphasizes effortless action, non-striving, and allowing things to unfold naturally. The project explores the idea that individuals can avoid exploitation by stepping away from constant productivity or utility, instead existing for their own sake in accordance with Taoist principles. This perspective aligns with contemporary discussions of burnout and the search for alternative approaches to personal freedom.

The Extended Cut deepens this meditation by extending the durational experience, further challenging conventional cinematic structure and the viewer’s relationship to time itself.
