Eurovelo 14: Velence→Balaton (Hungary) full cycle route [4K]

Описание к видео Eurovelo 14: Velence→Balaton (Hungary) full cycle route [4K]

The second part of the brand new Hungarian Budapest-Balaton (BuBa) cycling route from Velence to Balatonakarattya. The route is part of the Eurovelo 14 international cycle route. Most of the route is on a new, high-quality cycle path.

First half of the route (Budapest→Etyek→Velence):    • Eurovelo 14: Budapest→Velence (Hungar...

The tour starts at the waterfront of Velence, then rolling along the coast to the northern beach, where the official Budapest-Balaton cycle path from Etyek joins. After Velence there is relatively more traffic (trucks, lorries), this was due to a festival nearby, otherwise it is a nice, quiet stretch of road.

You can take a short break at the Pákozdi-Sukoró Arboretum, and it's also worth a bit of a ride up to the nearby Military Museum Park. On entering Pákozd, it is recommended to make another very short detour to the statue of Miska the Hussar at Domb Street. Unfortunately, the statue is not visible from the road and is not signposted, so it is easy to pass by.

After passing through Pákozd, we head towards Székesfehérvár, which we soon reach after passing Kisfalud. In the city, the roads are of mixed quality, and although they are signposted in many places, it is easy to get lost, so it is worth paying close attention to the road. Once out of Székesfehérvár, we soon reach the newest part of the route, and we can cycle through Szabadbattyán to Kőszárhegy on a high-quality cycle path.

After Kőszárhegy, the bumpy side road is a bit of a disappointment after the good quality, but after leaving Polgárdi, it's back to first class cycling again. After Füle and Balatonfőkajár, you don't have to cycle much to the Hungarian sea. Soon we arrive in Balatonakarattya, where we pass the railway station and take the Iskola street, where we should leave the official Balaton bike circuit and end our ride on the Kisfaludy promenade, the high bank of the lake, where we can enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Balaton.
