The Mountain's High by Dick and Dee Dee

Описание к видео The Mountain's High by Dick and Dee Dee

In 1961 Dick St. John and Mary Sperling (aka Dee Dee Sperling and then Dee Dee Phelps) worked together at a See’s Candies store in Los Angeles. On lunch breaks, he would start singing and she joined in with a harmony. They loved the sound so much they bought time at a local recording studio and produced it under the name Dick and DeeDee. The A-Side was “I Want Someone,” but the B-Side, which had “The Mountain’s High,” became the first of many successful records for the duo. The song went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961 and became an RIAA gold record. They disbanded in 1969. Over the past few years, Dee Dee Phelps has teamed up with Michael Dunn and, more recently, Jan (Deke) Detanna to perform.
