Another wonderful Kalkbrenner's etude from op. 143. If you haven't take a look at this collection of Études I encourage you to do it, because it is a lovely and well-planned series of romantic études. They are suitable for medium-hig level. Before the Chopin one's and after the Cramer's. They have a remarkable romantic taste, after Kalkbrenner's study of the works by Beethoven and Schubert, but with a unique voice in the piano literature.

The one in C minor ( number 7) has a ABA form. The A section is a stormy mix of octaves and arpeggios simultaneously in both hands with some nice suspendings (0:49), anticipating Chopin's language in some years. The B section is an early chords sequence, academic, looking into the baroque style, in my opinion. The rapid chromatic scales have to sound very contrasting with the c-minor theme. And then, returning to a A shorted version.
