Guzheng cover(Zither)/純箏 Ming Fei Qu/明妃曲 (《梦华录》插曲 )

The music piece, Ming Fei Qu, is a theme song for a popular TV series called Meng Hua Lu. This version of the guzheng piece is slightly modified from a piece composed by a guzheng player 筝界胖大叔.

Historically, Ming Fei (also known as Wang Zhaojun) is a historical figure in the Song Dynasty. Her story known as 昭君出塞(Zhaojun going out the frontier) is a story about political marriage, in which she yet sacrificed herself and married a foreign prince, but eventually brought peace and prosperity to her lands. In our eyes, it is a tragedy; but back then, people long appreciated her softness, poise, and good heart. For instance, the well-known ancient scholar Wang Anshi wrote two poems to remember her. One of his poems, 明妃二首 (Two Poems for Ming Fei), focuses on appreciating Ming Fei's beauty, her poise as well as the infectous power of her natural charisma.
