This Man Followed Me Out Of A Village Where Foreigners Never Go! 🇵🇰

After a day of touring the fascinating Kalash village of Karakol, I thought it was time once again for me to set off on my own towards uncharted territory. I left Karakol after chatting with a curious local and headed for the last village in the Bumboret Valley, Shaikhanandah. This was also the last village before the Afghanistan border. An entire province of the same ethnic group lived on the other side of that border, seperated by the mighty Hindu Kush mountains. There was no tourist infrastructure, and no real sights to see, although I was lucky enough to meet some friendly locals during my short time there. I was even invited to have some delicious Mutton Karahi and I got to watch my new friends make it from scratch. Walking away with a food coma, I met another local who decided to escort me the rest of the way back to Karakol. By that time I was ready for a nap and it was all I could do to make it back to the guesthouse on two feet! 🇵🇰
