Three Sounds: Jam Pedals Rattler MK2

Today we’re checking out the new Rattler MK2 from Jam Pedals. The Rattler is their take on the classic Rat Distortion and the new MK2 revision features some fantastic updates that make this a must try for anyone who is looking to get their hands on an excellent Rodent inspired pedal.

The MK2 features a new custom designed Op-Amp that is voiced to deliver the saturation and dynamics that the original Rat is known for, a new Symmetrical clipping option for a smoother feel, and a switchable Mid Boost that makes for a great lead boost. These changes make the Rattler MK2 incredibly versatile. It sounds fantastic across the entire gain range and can be used to cover a ton of ground tonally.

The control layout is nice and simple, controls for Level, Gain, & Tone. A two way switch for choosing between the stock Asymmetrical clipping and the new Symmetrical option. There’s two footswitches, the right side is the pedal bypass and the left is for the Mid boost. Internally, there’s is a switchable low cut and a volume control for the boost.
