How to handle under the influence of alcohol at work to ensure compliance with the legislation and effective employment relations. In this video I share many tips and recommendations based on my experience of countless under the influence of alcohol cases (chairing disciplinary hearings or facilitating an incapacity investigation). This video includes important general considerations, such as what I recommend you put in a contract of employment around alcohol, when should you have an alcohol policy and what to put in it, what to have in place to mitigate risks and deal with the situation effectively when it happens and then the difference between when it is a conduct matter vs an incapacity matter.
