How to Get and Reset the Radio Code on a Honda CR-V

For Honda CR-V: The best place to locate a radio code is in the owner's manual of your car. In most cases, the owner's manual will be located in your glove box and will include general automotive service and maintenance tips, along with instructions on how to operate each system on the vehicle.

Now, follow these steps to obtain the serial number of the device you want to unlock. For year 2001 and later models, you may obtain the serial number from the device display. (Please note: not the radio code)

To obtain the Serial Number:

1.Turn the ignition switch to ON.

2. Turn ON the device and confirm that the display reads CODE. If you don’t see this message, pull the backup fuse for 1 minute, and then go back to step 1.

3. Turn OFF the device.

4. Press and hold the 1 and 6 radio preset buttons, and turn ON the device.

* It's important that you must turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The instructions are:

Press and hold the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time while turning ON the radio by pressing the power button.

* Things to note:

By providing an email address, you will be sent a confirmation with the code for your records.

Write down the radio code.

Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position and turn on the radio and enter the radio code.

NOTE: Once you have obtained the radio code from the website link, go to the vehicle.

Turn the vehicle ignition switch or use the start button to put the vehicle in the auxiliary (not the start or run) position.

Turn the radio ON. The radio should display the word "CODE". If the radio displays and error (ERR) message, disconnect the black negative under hood battery cable for 1 to 3 minutes to reset the system). Turn the radio back on and look for the word "CODE." Enter the radio code. The radio should come back on.
