In my Visual Literacy course, we are studying aesthetics. I am very interested in aesthetics in abstract film. According to Marshall McLuhan, "the medium is the massage... no part of us is untouched, unaffected or unaltered." That said, it is curious to me whether or not the mind takes a rest while looking at abstract art. Free of reality, the mind is free to decide for itself what it sees. Visuals we are all searching for something. Does the mind take a rest when we do not recognize what we see? You decide! How do you feel when you see the abstract or reality.


You are invited to prove McLuhan correct. Please watch this 8 minute and 14 second film and answer 4 easy questions with a sentence or two.
