It’s always exhilarating diving in Kirby’s rock- that protrusion of a rock at the very tip of Maricaban Island. It looks small from above sea level , but underwater , it is big hill of a rock. In this site , you get to dive by the side of a big giant wall of corals filled with sea creatures. Floating by the side of the giant vertical wall is like flying , except with many varied fish on one side and an amazing collection of colorful corals on the other. To me, it’s the ultimate in weightless flight, with no danger of falling to the ground because you are in the water:)
Kai’s SCUBA classmate and friend , Kassandra dives with us , and they take many MANY video twofies . We see a sea turtle but it swims away . Also some nudebranchs and a mushroom shaped coral that Joaquin swims by. One of the highlights of Kirby’s rock is swimming through two giant walls of rocks , and meandering through it is such a great diving experience! Great video as usual , by Pio!
