The Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded in 1873, it is situated at the edge of Chinatown in Jalan Bandar. In 1968, a new structure was built, featuring the ornate 'Raja Gopuram' tower in the style of South Indian temples.

This colourful temple is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. There is an amazingly beautifully ornate entranceway and many intricate carvings and statues inside the temple, including an impressive mural wall. This is a very peaceful temple in the middle of a very busy district of Kuala Lumpur - 4 minutes walk from Petaling Street Market.
Tourists are made to feel very welcome, although this is also an active temple with many worshipers there when we visited. Recommended to visit both during the day and also at night when the temple is lit up with colourful lights. We spent around 20 minutes here to having a good look around and taking lots of photos and videos.
