Barnsley Resort is the perfect North Georgia getaway for couples or families

Have you been to Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, just about an hour north of Atlanta? If not you are missing out on a lovely Atlanta getaway!

Barnsley Resort, formerly known as Barnsley Gardens, is an Atlanta estate that was built in the 1800s by an Englishman. The grounds have gorgeous flowers, golfing, pretty cabins and a newly opened Inn and a fabulous spa! But you don't have to stay overnight to enjoy Barnsley Resort. Anyone can come up and spend the day @barnsleyresort for $10.

Developed by a wealthy Englishman, Barnsley Resort was established in the 1800s. Godfrey Barnsley came to the US from Liverpool, England in 1824. After living in Savannah for a while he wanted to move he and his wife to an area with lots of land for them to build a grand mansion with beautiful gardens.

Now, Barnsley Resort is privately owned. But oh is it an oasis. When I visited, we had the best weather and I swear I could have stayed in this hammock forevah! But they had some special treats for us like cocktails with locally sourced ingredients, a farm to fork dinner at the Rice House - I mean wow. Was blown away by the food and wine pairings here. 🥘🍷🍴

There’s horseback riding if that’s your cup of tea, but I’m more of a hiking and spa day kind of girl. And wine drinking. Or cocktails. I can't wait to get back up to Barnsley Resort. Have you decided to go yet?
