Sometimes a quilt needs that little bit extra...a little more than an all-over quilting design…but not full-blown custom quilting.

Case in point - this lovely, scrappy quilt, with 8” snowballs that call out for a wee bit of special free motion quilting.

Little back story - this project is affectionately called the “Sister Quilt”. My sister and I made a pair, starting with the same grouping of fabrics for the snowballs, and then each venturing out into our own favorite reds, caramels, and browns. So they’re not twins….just sisters. Like us ❤️

The quilting idea is courtesy of Bethanne Nemesh (White Arbor Quilting) She’s published an entire BOOK of ideas for secondary designs that add that “something special” to a project, but are still very time-efficient. With her permission to use it, and a smidge of marking, it’ll bring this quilt to life.
