Thanks for watching, and hope you enjoyed these clips of this very interesting spot on the border of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

The Lehigh Valley, CNJ, and L&HR all cross the Delaware River on three different bridges from Philipsburg NJ and all merge here in this cut at Easton Pennsylvania. From this point, the L&HR used trackage rights on the CNJ from here to Allentown PA. The original Lehigh Valley had its own bridge across the Delaware, but was taken out of service back in the later 1980's, and was swung over to the CNJ to cross the river on the CNJ bridge. Other than the CNJ bridge across the Delaware, the CNJ line is out of service in both PA and NJ. In one clip of the video, you will see how the CNJ bridge aligns with the out of service CNJ main behind me going west. You will also see a out of service flyover along and over the LV mainline west of the station in the videos. This was to access a railyard the CNJ had across Lehigh River, and for CNJ passenger trains to access the Easton station. The last clip was a bonus I put in, and is a freight heading up the ex-North Hampton & Bath at Bethlehem just off the CNJ main. The CNJ is in use from here west to Allentown, and going east, out of service from here to the bridge in Easton.

The bridge I did most of the filming on was the unique Easton Train station that both the Valley and CNJ used and housed the REA terminal underneath. My attached photo shows the LV tracks still being used in 1981, so the Valley bridge was still in service at this time, which the train just crossed. The towers had operators and also housed elevators that were used the bring freight up to track level. https://www.flickr.com/photos/jackdk/...
