Google Meet is a free alternative to tools like SKYPE or Zoom or Microsoft Teams. It is free with ANY GMAIL account and has a number of really useful features. In fact for a free tool, it is one of the most impressive tools I have come across.

Google Meet has a number of really impressive features. For example you can include subtitles which are automatically generated by your voice as you present. This is ideal if you are presenting to a group which is hard of hearing or to people who are not native to your language. It works in several languages as works really well. Both the presenter and the participants can use it.

Google Meet is really easy to set up. You can start a meeting immediately and just share a link and then email the link to the people you want to join the meeting. You can also set up a meeting in your calendar and add people you want to join. They will all be send an invitation.

It is a great tool for trainers and teachers. You can have up to 100 people in a meeting and you can have as many as 49 people on the screen with their webcams. You are able to screen share and so you can share a PowerPoint presentation or screen share something from the desktop of your computer. The screen sharing works very well and in this video I take you through this feature in detail.

One really impressive thing about Google Meet is that you can set the backgrounds. This feature is very easy to use and so you can blur the background or add in a number of different backgrounds into a meeting. Google meet makes all the settings very easy to set up and it is very easy to share a meeting and get other people to join your meeting.

Please remember, I am showing you the FREE tool. This comes with any basic GMAIL account, This is not the business version of the product. There are not any breakout rooms in the free product but there are a number of excellent features that really make it stand out as a free webinar tool.

I highly recommend it for anyone teaching. Remember the participants can also screen share, so it is deal for small teaching groups, company training but also pretty large groups of up to 100 people.
