The long vowels (thick dot and thick dash) can be remembered by repeating the sentence "Pa may we all go too?" i.e word pa giving sound ah, may - a, we - e, all - aw, go - o, too - oo.
The short vowels (light dot and light dash) can be remembered by repeating the sentence "That pen is not much good". i.e word that giving sound a, pen - e, is - i, not - o, much - u, good - oo.
