I’ve been binging My Hero Academia lately and need to weeb out cause this show is so good! About a month ago I got the idea to make oddity displays based on MHA characters, drawing inspo from their personality, quirk, hero outfit, and possibly their dorm rooms. This is the first display in this series!

Eijiro Kirishima, hero name- Red Riot, quirk- hardening, he can make his entire body hard as a rock

The color scheme was an obvious choice, back and red because of his hair and hero costume. I chose a big beetle to represent Kiri because beetles often live under rocks or in the dirt which is full of rocks, and beetles have a hard shell so I thought that connected to his quirk. I had a few beetle specimens to choose from but I decided on this one because I thought it was the cutest and Kiri is adorable. Strong and cute- both Kiri and this beetle. I added shark teeth because of Kiri’s character design, he has shark teeth. The black line in the background is a direct reference to the black strap going across his chest in his hero costume. The rocks were an obvious choice since his quirk is rock hard. I used textured acrylic paint- which I believe is paint mixed with sand- to paint the background as another reference to rocks. The shredded fabric on the corners is in reference to the half skirt he wears in his hero costume which is also shredded fabric.

Supplies
Frame- got about 5 boxes of frames 2nd hand for free online
Beetle- found naturally deceased
Shark teeth- bought from an aquarium
Rocks- picked up from my driveway then painted black
Red fabric- cut from an old shirt then shredded with scissors
Funto red textured acrylic paint mixed with Blick Artists burnt umber acrylic paint
Basics black acrylic paint
