MOBY DICK - THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL VERSION

Описание к видео MOBY DICK - THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL VERSION

This was, by far the most involved video to do yet. This solo is a BEAST, and really exemplifies how truly great Bonham was in all ways....his sound, touch, feel... his incredible speed and fluency technically, and his unique creative style. As great as this solo is, there are so many versions of his solo that contain all kinds of inventive and novel variations of the themes you find here. Check them all out! One that comes to mind is the version from Raleigh, NC 1970. Truly a one of a kind musician.

I tried to get as close to what Bonzo played as possible, but it's nearly impossible to nail every nuance and sticking pattern, especially without it becoming too clinical sounding. It's very valuable to closely analyze any great artists technique, so doing the breakdown/demo series on this solo recently was really helpful, and I hope it is for all who want to explore Bonham's brilliant style in detail. Here is a link to that playlist.....    • Moby Dick Royal Albert Hall version

Sorry for the somewhat poor quality of one camera angle. I realized after I started to work on the editing that one camera was fluctuating while it was processing the light and exposure. I have been using colored lights in my ceiling above the drums to try to get a more atmospheric look to the videos, but it's tricky to manage with the camera, and I'm an amateur when it comes to video!

I sincerely hope you all enjoy this! I will be finishing up the entire RAH covers soon.
