Many of us naturally assume it's essential to lavish our partners with expensive gifts in order to show them how much we appreciate them, but where did these ideas come from and is this necessarily true? In this short film, The Open University’s Professor Jacqui Gabb and Dr Meg John Barker explore whether the answer to this question using research carried out for their book The Secrets of Enduring Love.
