John Edwards, UK Information Commissioner, explains the ICO 25 launched strategy, and his role to foster confidence in the UK's public service.

John Edwards is responsible for administering the freedom of information law and data protection and privacy law. On this International day, he reiterates the importance of standing shoulder to shoulder with the International Freedom of Information community: "Access to information is fundamental for the health of democracy and the institutions that underpin it". The strategy launched in the UK "ICO 25" aims at reinforcing confidence in the UK's public service with the leitmotivs: openness, transparency and accountability.
