The GMAT Focus Edition is different from the current GMAT in seven main ways. Firstly, the GMAT Focus has three sections instead of four. The current GMAT has four sections: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. The GMAT Focus edition has Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Data Insights or DI. Secondly, the AWA section, which has lost its importance, has been removed. Thirdly, the Verbal section will no longer have Sentence Correction Questions. Fourthly, the Quantitative section will only have Problem-Solving questions that require some knowledge of arithmetic and elementary algebra, but not Geometry questions. Fifthly, the test will take less time to complete since each of the three sections will take 45 minutes instead of the usual 75 minutes. Sixthly, the new section is designed to be shorter and more real-world-focused, which means it is focused on skills that truly matter. Finally, by eliminating hurdles like Sentence Correction and Geometry, the GMAT Focus allows test takers to concentrate on other areas and boost their overall performance.
