The Air That I Breathe Cover

Описание к видео The Air That I Breathe Cover

This week's "Remake of a Classic" was written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood, and was initially recorded by Albert Hammond on his 1972 album, "It Never Rains in Southern California".

Most people are familiar The Hollies 1974 version. What some folks might not be aware of is that their version was engineered by Alans Parsons. Apparently Parsons discussed the song with Eric Clapton, who said the first note had more soul that anything he'd ever heard. Although I was familiar with The Hollies version, it was The Mavericks' 2003 cover that made me fall in love with it (being a huge Mavericks fan didn't hurt). That said, I tried to stick fairly close to The Hollies version, which is what The Mavericks did.

When researching the different parts, about 99% of the "how to play" videos on Youtube show the beginning guitar riffs as being one guitar. Not so....it's two guitar tracks. For these two tracks I used, for the first time in a video, my newly-acquired 1979 Ibanez...sweet guitar (thanks again to Mills Rouse for hooking me up).
