FLOODING in the KIMBERLEY Pt3 / Both Rivers are UP AGAIN / All ROADS still CLOSED! WET Season cont..

ALL footage filmed on the same day: Saturday 21st January 2023.
Roads are still CLOSED all around Derby, NO FREIGHT TRUCKS coming in with stock for local businesses. Essential supplies are getting flown in, so we are all very healthy....BEER is NOT essential! ;)

Plan A for the day was to drive to the May River and FISH! BUT it RAINED over night, so all roads where muddy again, and the flood waters from further up have reached us again.
Plan B: We realised when driving into May River the ''Road Closed'' signs had gone from the Famous GIBB RIVER ROAD, so once we realised we would not be fishing the May, we went for a drive up the GIBB.
Beautiful to see so much fresh water over the flood plans, so much wildlife and bird life around.
Please be careful if driving out there, washouts on the road.
Then we drove all the way down to Willare Bridge. It was wonderful to see the road works have begun on fixing our Highway out of town already. There is a long way to go, but they are so busy rebuilding!
The Fitzroy river is still pumping, and on the rise again.
The rain has started again.
There is a monsoonal low coming next week.
The WET Season has really only just begun!!!
Derby town will be cut off until the Great Northern Highway is rebuilt.
