A Master Class with Olivier Assayas

Olivier Assayas received the Creative Excellence Award at the 2017 RIFF festival. Assayas was awarded as Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival last year (2016) and has for many years been one of the most prominent film makers in France, making dozens of films that have received various awards and nominations. Assayas became famous in the 90s after his film, Irma Vep , premiered but the film is a multidimensional art work and the director’s ode to film city Hong Kong. Assayas has since enjoyed great success with films such as Les Destinées sentimentales (2000), Demonlover (2002) and Clean (2004), all of which have been nominated for the Palm d’Or at Cannes.

Assayas hosted a masterclass in the Nordic House during the 2017 RIFF festival.
