अक्षांश और देशांतर पृथ्वी पर किसी स्थान की स्थिति को निर्धारित करने के लिए उपयोग किए जाने वाले दो प्रकार के भौगोलिक निर्देशांक हैं। अक्षांश और देशांतर पृथ्वी पर काल्पनिक रेखाएँ हैं जिनका उपयोग किसी स्थान की भौगोलिक स्थिति को निर्धारित करने के लिए किया जाता है।

अक्षांश रेखाएँ

अक्षांश रेखाएँ भूमध्य रेखा के समानांतर पूर्व और पश्चिम में चलने वाली रेखाएँ हैं। भूमध्य रेखा 0 डिग्री अक्षांश है, और उत्तरी और दक्षिणी ध्रुव क्रमशः 90 डिग्री उत्तर और 90 डिग्री दक्षिण अक्षांश हैं। अक्षांश रेखाएँ पृथ्वी को उत्तरी और दक्षिणी गोलार्ध में विभाजित करती हैं।

देशांतर रेखाएँ

देशांतर रेखाएँ उत्तरी और दक्षिणी ध्रुवों को मिलाने वाली रेखाएँ हैं। प्रधान मध्याह्न रेखा 0 डिग्री देशांतर है, और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तिथि रेखा 180 डिग्री देशांतर है। देशांतर रेखाएँ पृथ्वी को पूर्वी और पश्चिमी गोलार्ध में विभाजित करती हैं।

अक्षांश और देशांतर का उपयोग

अक्षांश और देशांतर का उपयोग पृथ्वी पर किसी भी स्थान की स्थिति को निर्धारित करने के लिए किया जा सकता है। उदाहरण के लिए, दिल्ली 28.6139 डिग्री उत्तर अक्षांश और 77.2090 डिग्री पूर्व देशांतर पर स्थित है।
