Sky News host Liz Storer labels the government's nationwide digital ID program a “bad policy” which "nobody” asked for.

Government Services Minister Bill Shorten announced the Albanese government’s plan to roll out a nationwide digital ID program.

“This is truly a backflip from the usual modus operandi from the government,” Ms Storer said.

“Every single time you have a measure like this, which increases people's reliance on the government while increasing the government's power – that right there is the axis of evil.

“That is where you go, no, bad policy, we do not want it.

“Nobody has asked the government for this.”
