Description:
Minimalist DSP receiver (SI4735 / 4730 / 32) mounted on a home-made printed circuit board designed specifically for it. The PCB incorporates the Arduino Nano, audio amplifier, TFT display interface and the DSP chip that makes the radio reception (AM/FM/SW/SSB). The entire set is housed in a compact ABS case (Patola PB112), making it very portable. The receiver is powered by 2x 18650 batteries in series (adapted behind the cabinet). The Si4732 DSP radio chip mounted on the breakout board which already contains the oscillator crystal. Audio amplifier is the TDA2822 class AB operating in mono (not bridge), providing max power of 500mW, powered by 7.4v. No LNA (RF preamp) was used for antenna signals, only passive LC filters. Arduino powered by of 7.4v on the VIN pin and this in turn supplies regulated voltage of 5v for the display and 3.3v for powering the Si4732. I don't use logic level converter, I only use 1k resistors on the I2C bus and 10k resistors on the RESET pin. 10k PULL-UP resistors on the I2C bus. The volume control is analog and made by a 50k potentiomenter with integrated on/off switch. The rotary encoder was modified to remove the indented steps, so it turns smoothly. Code developed by JCR, Si473x Michael Kennedy library modified to SSB by JCR.
A homemade active magnetic loop antenna was attached to the radio (loop diameter 63cm), for Shortwave band only.

Observations:
-Don't expect this receiver to perform as well or better than professional and commercial receivers, this is an amateur home project that aims at the personal satisfaction of setting up at home and seeing it work beyond the learning that this activity provides.

-As this project with SSB is still experimental and prototype and I made it for my own use (hobby) and for learning, I don't have it all documented in a way that others can put together. I intend at some point to organize all the information and share this project.
I started researching to develop a DSP receiver using arduino and Si4730 in 2018. By the way, I don't use the PU2CLR library. I was the first to successfully apply the SSB patch (csg / hex file) to a Si4735 using an Arduino. It served as an inspiration for developers and DIY adepts. 73!
