Schmidt trails challenger Vasquez in Multnomah County district attorney race

Even with the numbers not going his way, Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt did not concede the race Tuesday night. He said he was watching closely as more results were expected to come in.

"This has been a hard-fought campaign, and we're still counting," he said. "But regardless of the outcome tonight, I'm filled with so much deep gratitude."
