Описание к видео CT patient positioning plays key role in radiation dose reduction. For Ct Technologist.Part-1

CT scan positions vary depending on the body part being imaged. Here are some common positions:

1. **Head CT Scan**:
**Position**: The patient lies flat on their back (supine) with their head secured in a headrest to minimize movement. The head is positioned so that the chin is slightly tucked in, aligning the head with the gantry of the CT scanner.

2. **Chest CT Scan**:
**Position**: The patient lies flat on their back with their arms raised above their head to avoid interference with the scan. They are positioned so that their body is aligned straight within the scanner.

3. **Abdominal/Pelvic CT Scan**:
**Position**: The patient lies on their back with their arms either by their sides or raised above their head. They may be asked to hold their breath during certain parts of the scan to reduce motion artifacts.

4. **Spine CT Scan**:
**Position**: The patient lies flat on their back or stomach, depending on which part of the spine is being scanned (cervical, thoracic, lumbar). The arms are usually placed alongside the body.

5. **CT Angiography**:
**Position**: Similar to other CT scans, the patient lies on their back. For brain and neck angiography, the head is secured; for chest or abdominal angiography, the arms are raised above the head.

6. **Extremity CT Scan**:
**Position**: The patient’s limb (arm, leg) is positioned in the center of the CT gantry, with the rest of the body supported and aligned outside the scanner.
