Tired of your buddies making fun of your "garage queen" beemer or other ADV bike? Show them this and shut them up!

Don't be intimidated by tight U--Turn situations with your adventure or dual sport bike. We've all had to push and pull our bikes to get them turned around on a tight trail or on uneven slopes. There is a more advanced and faster way to do this that works in certain situations. Use this skill not only to impress your friends but also to gain confidence on your bike.

Instructions:
1. Practice on a somewhat flat, fairly loose surface (no pavement!)
2. Turn off your traction control (fully off!) and rear wheel ABS
3. Lock your rear brake and pull in the clutch
4. Slightly flick bars left to induce leftward slide.
5. As bike leans left, countersteer right to correct slide as needed.
6. Come to a stop and plant your left foot.
7. Look where you want to go
8. Pretend you are going to pivot the bike around your left foot
9. Throw the clutch and apply throttle. Keep bike leaned left slightly.
10. Keep your eyes up!
11. Don't hesitate!
12. As the bike pivots under throttle, begin to straighten the front wheel
13. You're done! Reward yourself with some new fog lights.
