DIY Pad instrument with pressure sensitive analog soft buttons: The Virus Pad.

The Kontrol Freak is BACK, with a brand new video, and this one’s a monster. This video documents the creation of a brand new MIDI instrument, the “Virus Pad”. I go into a lot of detail, silly mistakes included, showing you how I make and connect everything, and how the code works, from start to finish.
The finished instrument has looper controls and two different playing modes, one for percussion and drums, and one for melody and chords. The project includes:
DIY force sensitive resistors (FSR) out of velostat
Multiplexers and voltage dividers
Making an instrument box from recycled materials
Sensor and MIDI code in Arduino, on a Teensy microcontroller
Reading sensors and interpreting input
many other interesting details.
