Slab Square, Nottingham. To those of us who grew up here the square was a place to meet on a Saturday morning to go shopping with friends. At the steps of the Council House in the background of this asmr video are two enormous stone lions. These would be the place to meet 'between the lions'.

I recorded this particular video for the Writing Places series to give you the random background noises of the square for when you are writing and see some noise so as not to write in silence.

You can hear the various trams moving around the square, the chiming of the clock above the council house, and of course the endless cooing of the pigeons that spend their time close to the fountains which are just off screen and to the right as we watch the video.

I was amazed that even with my tripod set up very obviously, several people came to sit or stand right in front of me. With these videos and many others in the Writing Places series it has become clear that if you are not looking through the camera view finder when they see you, they assume that you are not filming. It all just adds to the visual aspect of people watching in such a video.

If, like me, you are here as much for the sound, then the video does not matter quite so much.
