Swedish Schnapps (the title of which may be the origin of the term “Swedish Blues”, although the tune is based on I Got Rhythm).

Photo: Red Rodney (Robert Chudnick), circa June 1946. At this time, he was still working in Gene Krupa's orchestra. Red wanted to look like Dizzy Gillespie and tried to emulate his appearance, although he was hampered by his 19 years and light skin color. Pointing to his goatee so that no one would mistake him, he responded to jokes: “No doubt, goatees strengthen the lips. And not only for playing the trumpet.”
