Описание к видео 21st Century Tintypist - Using an 1800s photographic process in the modern day @ Penumbra Foundation

Tintypes date back to the mid-19th century, as one of the original ubiquitous photographic processes. Not only is the process ancient in the general timeline of photographic history, it also holds up as one of the most gorgeous and detailed formats in the lifetime of the form. Tintypes, or "wet plate collodion" processes, have seen a renaissance in the last two decades, and an organization the forefront is the Penumbra Foundation. In this docu-short, we explore this special process through the hands and eyes of of Sam Dole, Penumbra's in-house tintypist.
