How to Remove and Clean the Gen 3 Toyota Prius Battery Cooling Fan

Описание к видео How to Remove and Clean the Gen 3 Toyota Prius Battery Cooling Fan

Hello everyone! Welcome to @autoscholarwithmrb! Today we have this 2010 Toyota Prius, Generation 3, and we are going to clean the battery cooling fan. This car just had the high voltage battery replaced with a refurbished unit, and is in for other work (brake actuator, check engine light). I asked the owner if the car has ever had the fan cleaned, and he didn't know, so I decided to take a look. IT WAS DIRTY, but not the worst I have seen.

Cleaning the fan isn't something that Toyota considers a maintenance item, but as you can see, they do get dirty and can cause issues. This job takes about an hour to do and requires minimum tools. Trim tools, a 10mm socket, and a source of compressed air or a brush is all it takes to do this.

Make sure your battery lives a long time, by ensuring the fan is working as well as it can!
