Video tutorial on how to knit the Crossed Rib Stitch (Simple Stitch Series; traditional stitch pattern).

Abbreviations: Cross 2RK=cross 2 stitches right knit; K=knit; P=purl; st=stitch.

Crossed Rib Stitch Pattern (2-row repeat) - Knit in the flat (cast on a multiple of 3 sts + 1; eg, 16 sts or 25 sts):
Row 1: K1, *P2, K1. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 2: P1, *cross 2 RK, P1. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
[For cross 2RK, knit into the second st on left needle, then knit into the first st on left needle, then drop off both left needle sts]
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for the pattern.

For knitting this pattern in the round, cast on a multiple of 3 sts (eg, 15 sts or 24 sts) and follow pattern as follows:
Row 1: *K2, P1. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
Row 2: *cross 2 RK, P1. Repeat from * to the end of the row.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for the pattern.
