Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) MP Sanjay Raut has alleged that Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's son Shrikant Shinde had given contract to a gangster in Thane to carry out an attack on him. In a letter addressed to deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, who is the state’s home minister too, and to the Commissioners of Police in Mumbai (Vivek Phansalkar) and Thane (Jai Jeet Singh), the Rajya Sabha MP said that he had credible information that a Thane-based gangster Raja Thakur was going to attack him.
