Planting and second year growth of this Brunnera macrophylla “Jack Frost” (Siberian Bugloss). Native to Turkey this herbaceous perennial is hardy in zones 3 to 8 and blooms in April to May. It can grow 1 to 1 and half feet tall. Jack Frost is marked by white frosting on the leaves between the veins, it does best in well drained rich soil with a lot of organic material. Each plant grows from a rhizome in good conditions; they will spread into clumps making an attractive groundcover.
In early spring small blue flowers are borne above the plant.
