The Gauteng Health Department says it is investigating allegations of negligence and poor patient care at the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg.

Former broadcaster Tom London, who was admitted to the hospital, made the claims in a video widely circulated on social media.

He says many patience there are being neglected, with those needing treatment saddled with rude behaviour from the staff, including doctors.
