The University of Maine, home of the world’s largest 3D printer, is becoming known as a world leader in engineering advances. The university’s Advanced Structures and Composites Center is headed by Dr. Habib Dagher, also known for teaching the next generation of technology innovators.

In this episode of Chasing Maine, we talk with Dagher about UMaine’s growing reputation — as a place where science and technology combine to create products that help to benefit society. In Dagher’s words, “By working together we can make a difference, educate the next generation and move the needle on societal needs.”

Meanwhile, the center is attracting young, new talent from away, and bringing former students back to Maine to continue their career. “We need to bring the young people back to Maine,” says Dagher. "We have a motto in our lab… none of us is as smart as all of us.”
