Gun Silencer basic Physics (Part 1)

A comparison between a real gun silence construction and a PCP silencer.

The real silencer was kindly provided by Nielsen Gun Parts and the PCP silencer comes from AirForce Airguns.

They are both made for 0.22cal projectiles however both have very different designs, i will explain in simple terms why.

Note:
PCP silencers/moderators can not be used for firearms. The suitability of a Firearm moderators/silencers for PCP can not be guaranteed as the ballistics for fire arms are completely different for expanding air. The velocities of a PCP pellet or slug are too slow for a typical firearms moderator construction, where internal turbulence can adversely affect the exiting trajectory.
