Why not use wafer paper on a cookie?
It’s safe to eat and the flavor is very subtle — so it won’t interfere with what’s going on in your cake. You can condition wafer paper in all kinds of ways – create flowers and textures, so it’s so great for cake decorating.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to color wafer paper two ways, what side of wafer paper to use (smooth or shiny), and how to create beautiful couture-inspired flower appliques on a cookie (or a cake).

Wafer paper is a sheet of edible material, typically starch-based. It is vegan, gluten-free, and free from most allergens. It closely resembles printer paper in texture, but it is edible and could be manipulated into beautiful florals and used for contemporary cake designs.

Ingredients: potato starch (or rice starch), water, and vegetable oil.
