Hey everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2017 Audi Q7. I wanna walk you through how to install the stealth hitch with towing kit. This is what our hitch is gonna look like when it's installed. You can see we're kind of up in the air, but if it was down you wouldn't be able to see anything.

Being able to remove the different receivers that come with this kit really makes it hidden. So it's gonna come with a rubber cap. So when we're not towing we can re-install this cap and it keeps any dirt and debris from getting inside of this block here and making it difficult to put any of our receiver items in. It is gonna be lockable. So you have a lock.

It's gonna come with two keys. So here we have our mounts. This is gonna be only for bike racks and your cargo carriers. This is not designed for towing. All you're gonna do is you're gonna simply take it and you're gonna push it up into place.

It's basically gonna stay there. Push the lock in, that's gonna lock it in place nobody can come up and remove it. Once you unlock it this nob right here, you're simply gonna turn it and that's gonna release it. And of course your ball mount that comes with your kit is gonna install the same way. Push it into place.

Now it is recommended anytime you put a receiver in place to lock it so you don't have any accidental disconnects. But again once you unlock it, twist, slide it out. Re-install your cover here reinstall your cover for your lock and nobody knows that you have a hitch on the back of your vehicle. This kit is also gonna come with wiring with a seven pole plug, but not only that it's gonna come with a four pole adapter. So if you have a trailer or you pull a trailer often with a four-pole, you simply plug it in and it gives you your four pole option there. This is gonna give you all of your proper lighting functions, brake signals, turn signals, running lights. Also, it's gonna give you a brake output if you wanted to add a controller and also reverse light circuit. So now that we have it on the ground you can see our hitch is completely hidden. When we don't have our mounts in place. Our bike rack mount and cargo carrier mount is gonna give us a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. Hitch pin holes are gonna be 5/8 inch diameter. Hitch pin and clip does not come with it. You can find it here at etrailer. Ball mount. It's gonna give us a two inch ball. Our hitch itself is gonna have an 800 pound max tongue weight and an 8,000 pound gross towing capacity. I always recommend checking the owner's manual of the vehicle to make sure the vehicle can withstand that amount of weight. You're gonna go with the lowest number between the vehicle and the hitch. Now I'm gonna give you a few measurements of each one of our hitch mounted accessories, our ball mount and our receiver tube. So with our receiver tube, from the center of our hitch pin hole to the outermost part of our facia you're looking at about two inches. The numbers are important for any of your hitch mount accessories like your bike racks and your cargo carriers that fold up. You wanna make sure they're not gonna make contact. From the ground to the top innermost part of the receiver tube you're looking at about 13 inches. Keep that number in mind for any of your hitch mount accessories that may require a little bit more ground clearance. Let's go ahead and insert the ball and we'll give you a height on that one as well. So from the ground to the top of our ball you're looking at about 18 inches. Lowest part here you're looking at about 11 3/4 inches. So just keep that in mind. When you're towing something, if it drops back your car at all this lower part here hit any ditch, you wanna make sure you're not gonna hit the ground with it. As far as the installation on the hitch the hitch is pretty straightforward. Removing your facia, it really isn't that difficult. I will say installing the wiring can be a little bit trying. Now we've gone over some of the features let's walk through how to get them installed. To start our installation on each side of the vehicle behind the tire we're gonna remove two screws with a T25 Torx bit that are right here on the inside holding our fender liner in place. And we're gonna pull our fender liner back. We're gonna have one right here we need to remove. On the inner side, on each side we're gonna have four screws we need to remove. Two on the outside, we're gonna have two right here. This is gonna be towards right behind the rear wheel. And then on the lower part of our facia left and right of center we're gonna have two screws we need
