Members of Timepoint worked closely with the students to help them develop their pieces and give them a taste of collaboration between composer and performers.

"I think if we personified fire, it is truly a fun loving being; bouncy and energetic, never staying still, a side of fire which I believe is best modeled by sparks. As well as being fun to watch, fire (or at least energy) exists almost everywhere in our society; as such the piece is modeled after several uses of /re, and the types of sparks it creates, which stand out to me as
particularly well known: Fire, Welding, Fireworks, and Electricity.”
