Take The 'A' Train - Guitar Lesson

Описание к видео Take The 'A' Train - Guitar Lesson

"Take The 'A' Train" a jazz standard every jazz musician needs to know. in the key of C, The D7 chord is often written as a D7(b5) which may lead you to maybe play a whole-tone scale, after looking at many solo transcriptions of great jazz artist's solos a D7(#11) Lydian Dominant seems to work best.

This lesson will be looking at 3 important areas you need to know for any jazz standard.
1) The Head (Melody) - is written out in a with some chords added it, and can be played as is, or used as a guide for your own ideas.
2) The Comping (Chords) - The chord voicings through the bridge are written out in long notes giving you the opportunity to come-up with your own rhythms, feel free to get ideas from my performance on the video. Also come-up with your own ideas in the last section and on any repeated sections.
3) The Solo - The first time is written out, watch the video for a more in-depth explanation of the arpeggios, scales, and other tools used in coming-up with the solo, The second time is completely improvised and a great place to try out your own ideas.
