You have to be yolking! The world's oldest hen has defied belief by laying eggs egg-ain - THIRTEEN YEARS after her last.

The clucking wonder Victoria, who at 17 years old is thought to be Britain's oldest living chicken, left owner Steve Cooper shell-shocked after squeezing out two eggs for the first time since 2000.

The elderly black rock hen rules the roost at Tardbigge Cider farm in Bomsgrove, Worcestershire, and is so grumpy that her owners have compared her to infamous East London mobsters the Kray twins.

But after being moved into isolation for cocky behaviour she fired her way up the pecking order with her double-delight.

Farmer Steve, 54, said: "It's absolutely remarkable - I was so amazed when she laid one the first day so I had to make sure there was no foul play.

"When I found another egg the day after I knew it was her and it's quite incredible - she's so old and bitter that I wouldn't expect it."

Despite Victoria's bizarre return to form, Steve believes that the laying was a fluke due to a shift in her hormones from being alone.

Steve's wife and chief taster Christine cracked the shells open to make sure they weren't 'witch eggs' without yolks - but found that they were real and have just been 13 years in the making.

Steve said: "Christine declared the eggs a wonderful success and they tasted perfect.

"I have no idea how Victoria did it, she's a complete psychopath who ignores everyone and just attacks other chickens, but experts believe it may be a change in hormones from being excluded."

Teenage Victoria has long outlived her peers, typically black rock hens live to around 10 years old if not slaughtered.

But despite her age, she's still going strong .

Steve said: "Generally she looks like a dinosaur, a grumpy T-Rex that just wants to eat. But her health is fantastic and she's going to go on and on.

"She's just forgotten to die."
