This album (The Beautiful Letdown) came out right as I was finishing high school, so when I saw last fall that Switchfoot was coming through my town on their 20th anniversary tour for the album it was a no brainer. But what made it extra special is that my 10 year old daughter happened to overhear me mention the show to my wife, and she asked if she could come to. I told her I'd have to think about it, and that I wasn't sure we'd be going, but once she went to bed I made sure my wife didn't think I was being ridiculous and then bought two tickets.

Fast forward a few months, it's two weeks before the show, and I let my daughter know we'd be going to the concert together - her first. The rest, as they say, was history as she immersed herself in the album so that she could enjoy the concert and now Switchfoot is definitively her favorite band and she's been through their entire discography.

This cover is for her, I hope you enjoy it Kaitlyn (and aren't tired of hearing me practice it over and over).
